Thomas Wells

President & CEO

Thomas Wells, President & CEO is the majority-owner of WellsTac, Inc. and is the certified Service Disabled Veteran.

With more than 20 years experience, Thomas has mastered Tactical Communications and Networks of wireless, VoIP and IOT in the government space. Thomas has been responsible for major project successes through design, implementation, completion and aftermarket support. Thomas has achieved high customer satisfaction with 100% programs success. Thomas’ enthusiasm, dedication, transparency, and honesty have earned lasting customer relationships, based on mutual trust and respect.

 

Before founding WellsTac, Thomas worked for Dailey & Wells Communications for 12 years, a leading L3 Harris defense subcontractor. Thomas rose through the ranks and was the Chief of Networks in 2023. Before joining Dailey & Wells in 2012, Thomas served in the US Air Force and was stationed at Eglin AFB where he was awarded several awards and service ribbons as part of his avionics support for the F-16/F-22/F-35 platforms. This also included an extended deployment to Iraq for the Iraqi Freedom campaign. Thomas held various clearances in the US Air Force.

 

Thomas attended the Texas Military Institute (TMI) prep school, University of Texas (Computer Science), Embry Riddle University (B.S. Aeronautics) and Arizona State University (BS and MS in Information Technology).

Today, Thomas is regarded as one of the top experts in L3Harris P25 Networks. Thomas has led the Design, Implementation and Support for a portfolio of projects currently underway and completed over the past 12 years valued in the Billion Dollar range including Public Safety, Utility, Transit and Governmental Agencies from Implementation, acceptance and aftermarket support. More recently, Thomas played a key role in the Implementation of the $106 million Alamo Area Regional Radio System (AARRS) P25 network, which received Final System Acceptance in September 2022, as well as a 115-site Utility P25 network across Texas, worth over $60 million.

Thomas lives in New Braunfels, Texas and enjoys time with his wife Carolyn (former Radio City Rockette and owner of DBD Dance Studios) and three children. 

Catherine Wells Grier

Vice President & Treasurer

Catherine Wells Grier (Catie), Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer is the minority-owner of WellsTac, Inc.

 

With more than 20 years experience, Catie has mastered accounting and administrative duties in the Tactical Communications and Networks of wireless, VoIP and IOT in the government space. Catie has been responsible for all “Back End” administrative functions including AP/AR, P&L, Supply Chain Management and Accounting. Successful “Back End” competency and customer relations can make or break a company. Catie has an excellent track record working with Contracting Officers, Procurement and Disbursement entities in resolving complex program issues. Catie enjoys an excellent relationship with Supply Chain vendors, which is so critical in today’s lean environment. Catie’s enthusiasm, dedication, transparency, problem-solving and honesty have earned lasting customer relationships, based on mutual trust and respect.

 

Before founding WellsTac with her brother Thomas, Catie worked for Dailey & Wells Communications for 20 years, a leading L3 Harris defense subcontractor. Catie rose through the ranks and was a Corporate Director in 2023.

Catie attended the Texas Military Institute (TMI) prep school and the University of Texas with a major in Accounting.
